PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police have cited at least four teenagers after reports that 100 to 150 youths fought in groups at various places downtown during the final day of the Three Rivers Regatta on Sunday.
Channel 11 News learned that Pittsburgh police are scrutinizing cellphone video, going frame by frame working to identify the roving bands of teens who took part in several fights that erupted at the Regatta over the weekend.
The three-day event drew hundreds of thousands to the North Shore and downtown. Police said it also drew the same kind of teenage violence that erupted after the July 4 fireworks and the Regatta in 2016.

Four teenagers have already been cited, but many more took part. The violent video was recorded at the T-station on Wood Street and shows a large group of teens in an all-out brawl. Police said fights broke out on Stanwix Street and Liberty Avenue.
T-riders told Channel 11 they were happy to hear police are going to use social media and downtown surveillance cameras to identify, arrest or cite the teens who took part.
Reginald Christian said despite the teenage mayhem, he still feel safe attending downtown events.
“They just don't care about nothing no more, and it's sad, but I think that's just how it’s going to be for a minute, hopefully until these parents teach ‘em the right way," Christian said.
